"Why I Run the LMS 5K..."

"The LMS 5K is one of the best organized races my family has run and kids have as much fun as adults."
- Lexington, MA

"I have run since I was a teenager. I started doing it to stay healthy. However, over the years, I have come to appreciate the mental benefits. After running I am less stressed, more optimistic and more energetic. This translates into me being a better father, a better husband, and better at my job. I am running the LMS 5K to support my son's school, and to give myself an interim event to focus on between now and my big event in the fall (NYC Marathon)."
- Arlington, MA

"I started running to get/stay in shape a long time ago, but over the years I have come to really enjoy running. I enjoy the break from the pace of the rest of life and the time to be outside. I like to run with my kids (used to be in strollers, now on bikes and it won't be too long before they are on foot and waiting for me to catch up); I like to run with my dad ( he used to wait for me, now I wait for him); I like to run with my brothers (they mostly wait for me, but sometimes I surprise them). I run in the 5K to support LMS and hope that my participation encourages other to participate in what I believe will be a great event for many years to come."
