LMS is sending 12 middle school student delegates to the Montessori Model UN in New York, April 25-28. LMS will represent the countries of Kyrgyzstan and Sri Lanka this year. Earlier this week...
...LMS hosted a preparatory session with Riverbend Montessori's Norway delegation. All delegates spoke in committee, learning to make motions and points of inquiry. Our topics this year include Food Price Volatility; Regulation of Nuclear Power; Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration of Child Soldiers; and North-South Trade Inequity. Each student independently researched their topic and their country's history, and put together a position paper as well as a speech.
If you see Alex, Charlotte, Cheyenne, Galen, Jude, Kisha, Kuk, Mimi, Reed, Sylvie, Tim, or Will in the next week or so, wish them good luck!
