LE2 Small Group Challenge
After residency and spring break, we understand that students have been away from our typical classroom routine for a month. So we're mindful to transition back into it. Yesterday, we designed an activity for this purpose.
Ask your child to tell you about the experience.
In general, students recognized that collaboration was essential before they started. During the process, they shared ideas, helped one another, watched their structures grow and sometimes fall and laughed a lot.
We divided the class into 4 groups and gave each one the challenge to create the tallest, free-standing structure they could using only the materials provided: a plastic cup, post-it note, straw, Plasticine, chopsticks, 2 coffee cup lids, paper napkin, paper clip, and two plastic coffee lids.
