Welcome to LMS Summer Recess Lexington Montessori School is proud to announce our summer program is available to ail children! Summer Recess 2012 is for all kids, ages three through twelve. Organized around weekly themes, children can sign up for a few weeks but most end up staying for the entire summer.
There's always lot's of great stuff in store, tons of activities, field trips, good friends, fun and learning... with a Montessori touch. Summer Recess 2012 is now open for regstration!

 | Week 1 (6/11-6/16) Quest for Honor and Valor This week will test your strength of mind and spirit. Team up with friends to protect your kingdom from spies and vandals. Guard Up! A Swordsmanship program will lead a week of fun and adventures, ending with a trip to their facility located in Burlington, Ma. |

 Week 2 (6/18-6/22) The Great Outdoors Children will spend their week playing sports, activities and games in the fresh air.

 Week 3 (6/25-6/29) Sports and Fitness There won’t be much sitting around this week. It’s all about being active, learning the importance of flexibility, stretching and plenty more that motivates, inspires and promotes fitness. Children will play traditional and non traditional sports.

 Week 4 (7/1-7/6) Water Adventures Water is all around us. 70 percent of the earth is covered with it and summertime is ideal for it. Inspire your Jacques Cousteau Jr. with water lore, safety tips and fun activities galore.

 Week 5 (7/9-7/13) Around the World in 5 Days This week involves learning about other countries’ customs and traditions. Children will make ethnic dishes and sample food from different countries. |

 Week 6 (7/16-7/20) Weird Science This week covers a range of weird and fun topics all presented in a more hands on, less formal atmosphere than usual.

 Week 7 (7/23-7/27) What's Cooking? Kids love food-they love eating a satisfying snack. This week children will learn to follow recipes, measure ingredients, mix and prepare dishes. |
|
 Week 8 (7/30-8/3) Music Makers Children will have the opportunity to play instruments they would not normally have the chance to try out. They will choose their favorite instrument to play for their friends and family at our end of the week show. |

 Week 9 (8/6-8/10) Moovin and Groovin Children will have a good old-fashioned hoe down, line dance to disco music and participate in Hip Hop dance classes. We’ll bring back break-dancing from the 80s. Program Director will randomly play 30 seconds of music at different times of the day. When campers hear the music it’s their cue to let loose and start dancing, no matter where they are or what they are doing. |

 Week 10 (8/13-8/17) Back to the Basics Camp helps children develop character, learn valuable life skills, make new friends and discover new interest. This week children will participate in cooking classes, arts & crafts, music, dancing and sports.
