Classroom Volunteer or Room Parent

CLASSROOM VOLUNTEERING allows parents to connect to their child's classroom. Some examples of classroom volunteering:

*Help bake and share recipes
*Help children with art projects and crafts
*Share aspects of cultural celebrations observed by your family
*Chaperone a field trip
*Help with events such as Back to School Night Potluck, Mystery History Celebration, or HarvestFest Reception

Activities and events vary by classroom, so please check with your child's teacher(s) and Room Parents about how you can get involved.

Being a ROOM PARENT is an important role at LMS! Room Parents serve as a link for parents to the school. They help create a welcoming and inclusive classroom for all families, help parents navigate the various volunteer opportunities to serve the school, and facilitate and strengthen the connections among parents, teachers, the classroom, and the school. Please reach out to Perrin Schilling, Room Parent Coordinator, at, if you are interested in becoming a RP for the following school year (Room Parent positions are filled in the spring for the following academic year).

Contact Room Parents or an Upper Elementary teacher if you are interested in helping out with either of the two annual all-school events listed below (please also go to the Community Building page to see a list of a whole host of events in which to get involved).
