Elementary Drumming Residency, March 4th through 15th

Beginning March 4th, Tom Foote (and his brother Dan) will be back on campus to join the elementary students for a 2-week intensive arts residency on drumming. The residency will have two performances on Thursday, March 14th - a dress rehearsal at 10:00 AM and an evening performance at 6:00 PM.
Why, you might ask, do we do an annual residency? Many years ago, we started doing this to accomplish three things: 1) To provide an opportunity for children to perform for an audience; 2) To give kids a chance to work with teachers and children who are not in their normal daily classes; and 3) To allow us to pursue projects that all of elementary focus on over an extended time.
Beyond all that, we have created lots of excitement and institutional memories from the performances of circus acts, dance, poetry, puppetry, drumming and plays. We are confident that during the next two weeks, Tom and Dan will take us to places equally exciting and memorable!

Each year, to help promote their work, and to help raise money for the middle school's field study to Barcelona or Puerto Rico, the middle school students screen print, by hand, original designs related to the theme of the residency that year.
We are pleased to offer two original drumming-themed designs and sets of lettering by middle school students. You may get either design, in black or white ink, on your choice of: T-shirt, Sweatshirt, Tote Bag, Bandana, or Apron.
One piece of paper per order, please. The middle school students will order blank merchandise (shirts come in youth, unisex, or women's styles), and then print the designs by hand over the course of 4-6 weeks after March break. Thank you for your order and for supporting the middle and elementary schools!
