When we think about the lessons that are part of the anti-bias curriculum in LMS we think about supporting the development of kid's identities, their sense of belonging and their agency to create change. We explore ways in which kids can feel their actions create impact in the community around them. A couple of weeks ago the UE students learned about the history of the Pride flag and its significance in the LGBTQ rights movement. After the lesson, some of the kids helped hoist the flag outside our building. The kids were excited about the opportunity for them to take part in the Boston Pride Parade. They saw this as a place for them to express their support for the LGBTQ community and advocate for equality. Click on READ MORE to see all the details for this year LMS Pride march!
