A Note From Aline - March 31, 2022

Almost April

Just in the past three days, the prospect of what this spring can be has lifted spirits and generated excitement. Spring Break gave many of us a chance to wind down a little and look forward to April, May and June.

What can spring be?
  • The Upper Elementary teachers and students are making plans for their Big Trip to the Maine coast in late May;
  • Middle school students and teachers are planning their river-based expedition with Kroka staff in in Vermont’s Green Mountains in May;
  • Lower Elementary teachers are working with Nature's Classroom to visit LMS for outdoor education with LE students;
  • Children’s House teachers discussed natural-objects sculptures and fairy houses as group projects with their 3-6 year olds;
  • Toddlers will begin to venture to the 19 acres for nature walks.

That is some of what spring can be.

And, I am keeping an eye on the encroachment of this new BA.2 variant, especially after many community members traveled over spring break. Careful monitoring of pool testing, the continuation of our current protocols, and daily antigen testing when there is a positive case of covid all remain part of our routine for now.

So, I am counting on more sunshine, no icy wind, and the bursting of daffodils in the CH yard.

Welcome, April.
