Support for the LMS Projects Fund is crucial in that it enables the school to commit, on a regular basis, to improvements that enhance the school experience for students, faculty and staff, and parents.

Phase I of the Master Campus Plan, a Food Forest, was completed in the fall of 2019. Edible fruits and vegetables right off the vine! A hands-on learning experience for students from all levels of the school. The fruit trees -  persimmon and pear -- were the first step in this process. Once the space is properly prepared, students will plant a variety of perennial plants to include everything from blueberries to asters to horseradish.

This was the first in a series of projects envisioned for the Master Campus Plan as part of the Long Range Plan for LMS.

Now that the pandemic is becoming a thing of the past, we look forward to returning to the goals of the Campus Master Plan--more specifically, aspects of this important long-term plan that focus on expanding the outdoor classroom experience. Donations to the Projects Fund will be an important piece of enhancing what was a strong outdoor learning program during the 2020-2021 school year.
Below are examples of other projects that have been made possible over the years--each demonstrating the importance of this Fund:
  • Stone wall in front of Children’s House
  • Ball court on CH playground
  • Cabinets in CH BASP
  • Classroom cubbies in UE
  • Ten picnic tables (plus 3 childsize tables)
  • Mounted projectors in the Middle School math room and in Upper Elementary
  • Chromebooks for students use
