ALINE GERY LEGACY GIVING

Aline Gery – a source of inspiration, guidance, and motivation for 17 years as Head of School at Lexington Montessori School – deserves to be honored in a way that reflects her impact on this institution during her extraordinary leadership.

Please join LMS current and former parents, alumni, faculty and staff, and friends of the school in supporting Aline's legacy effort: a Gathering Circle and expanding the financial assistance the school is able to offer to deserving families.

The Gathering Circle will be constructed of beautiful stone and will offer a place for kids to come together for outdoor classroom work and it will also be a peaceful spot where people of all ages can enjoy a relaxing moment.

The Financial Aid the school is able to offer has been a cornerstone of LMS’ mission for many years. Aline has had an incredible impact on increasing this resource–let’s keep the growth trajectory strong!

LMS PROJECTS FUND

We start the 2022 - 2023 school year with impressive numbers reflecting the financial support from the LMS community during the 2021 - 2022 school year. Thank you to everyone who generously contributed to last year's Projects Fund drive!

Support for the LMS Projects Fund is crucial in that it enables the school to commit, on a regular basis, to improvements that enhance the school experience for students, faculty and staff, and parents.

The Food Forest is an exciting part of the LMS campus and it was made possible by the Projects Fund. Edible fruits and vegetables right off the vine! A hands-on learning experience for students from all levels of the school. The fruit trees -  persimmon and pear -- were the first step in this process. Now that the space is properly prepared, students have been planting a variety of perennial plants to include everything from blueberries to asters to horseradish.

Below are examples of other projects that have been made possible over the years--each demonstrating the importance of this Fund:

  • New lockers in Upper Elementary
  • Wooden structures used for outdoor learning and student and parent meetings: One on the upper field and a second one in the CH/EL greenspace
  • Stone wall in front of Children’s House
  • Ball court on CH playground
  • Cabinets in CH BASP
  • Ten picnic tables (plus 3 childsize tables)
  • Mounted projectors in the Middle School math room and in Upper Elementary
  • Chromebooks for students use
